Camp NaNoWriMo 2015

People offended by NaNoWriMo type activities, or words ending in WriMo, should leave now!

Camp NaNoWriMo is just around the corner…

Yes, you heard me right – NaNo outside of November! Camp NaNo has been going long enough that there is no excuse to have not heard about it (unless you have no ears). It’s a chance for NaNoers, who struggle to wait a whole year for NaNo to come back around, to recreate some of the fun and camaraderie that occurs in November.

Of course some people write all year round, but shhh…some NaNoers don’t like to acknowledge that fact.

The plan is simple – write a huge wibbly wobbly chunk of wordy goodness in a certain timey wimey limit. You have thirty days to play with and you can adjust your word count goal from anything to 10,000 to a whopping 999,999 words!

Although the main NaNoWriMo forums are still open, most of the chatter will be in the ‘cabins’ – private chat rooms for 4-6 campers. You can select a random cabin (‘surprise me with random cabin mates!’), or pick and choose from various options such as similar word count goal, age range, genre, or even request specific campers by username.

Miserable buggers can even tick the ‘I don’t want to be included in a cabin’ option and write in solitude.
