Nano: Day 6 – What a difference a day makes (Part 2)

Ok, I promised you an update at midnight but to be honest I’m spent for today. I was out at a housewarming last night until 1am, so wasn’t exactly a productive day all round (I had an old man nap). I haven’t caught up, or gotten anywhere near the 10k I was supposed to be at, in…*checks watch*…forty minutes time.
I wrote a pitiful 1,810 words since my last post, which is a tad shy of the 4,281 I was supposed to be writing in the seven hours I had to do so! Grrrr…
Although there is still some truth to the title of this post, for those of you that can’t be bothered to scroll up its “What a difference a day makes”.
The storyline of my nano novel has taken an unexpected turn. Completely shifting the focus of the story and turning the MC on his head!

Hopefully this will give me more to write about tomorrow when I once again try and catch up with the suggested word count.

Only tomorrow it will be a total of 11,667…*gulp*

Anyway, time to bugger off before I fall asleep and get keyboard face.

  1. I had one of those moments a couple of chapters ago. Something happened in the narrative of what was going to be chapter three that was WAY too significant for such an early stage so I put it to one side to be chapter 11 and re-wrote chapter three but it was still too big a plot point to be revealed so soon and that's now chapter 7. So I'm still short of chapter 3!

The good thing is that I haven't declared the words for those extra two chapters yet so I'm ahead of myself when I need to have a day off.

Keep up the good work. I expect your characters will let you in on the story eventually 🙂

  2. So you had one of those Ninja moments? LOL. Isn't writing a novel fun. LOL.

Where are you getting the cool pictures and animations?

  3. Not so much a plot ninja as a plot pirate, it plundered my original story line then set fire to my timeline ship. It's parrot also pooped on my MC…in a good way though.
