NaNoooooooooo!!

Come on you magnificent NaNo bastards!! It’s the last day!! For all those that have already finished WELL DONE! You’ve done great. If you want to take the last day off then put those feet up on the sofa and relax with a big box of chocolates and a stiff drink. If you don’t want to stop quite yet, then write, write, write, set a new PB to give yourself an even bigger challenge for next year!

For those that haven’t finished…WRITE, WRITE, WRITE!! It doesn’t matter how far behind you are…no really, it doesn’t matter. Not only are the more words the better regardless of this pesky 50k everyone seems to be hitting, but you could STILL MAKE IT!

This time last year I was 10k behind…and I won. I went to a last day write it, wrote like an idiot. Then I went home around 7pm still a few K behind and I somehow managed to stumble my way across the finish line sometime just before midnight.

You can always make up for lost time.

If you have finished, or when you do later today, don’t forget to validate! It’s an easy but essential process in claiming your NaNo victory. If you have a choice try not to leave it until the last minute, just in case the site gets a little busy at midnight. Plus differing word count algorithms might mean you’re a little “short”. So you’ll either want to write a tiny bit more or tweak the words to give you the word count you know you really have.
