The curse of distrac…ooh, a talking sausage!

I’m about to hit the 54k mark on my current novel, and…haha geese teeth…I’m getting to the point where I think I’ll have to start planning things…eep!
I know people like to work differently in regards…ooh a penny!…in regards to plot, and so do I. The trouble is I like to work differently for each book, sometimes each week that I’m writing. At the moment my mind can’t seem to…a monkey WOW!…can’t seem to add anything constructive to the plot. I keep coming up with random bits of ‘stuff’ that while pretty good (if I do say so myself), don’t really fit into the storyline at the moment.
*plays with shoelaces for a minute*
If I start noting down plot points, existing and proposed, then I might be able to build up enough of a storyline to keep me…I wonder if giraffes can swim?…keep me grounded in reality and also free of dreaded distractions.
I’ve also added a word count progress bar for my current WIP. So if you notice it hasn’t moved in a while feel free…do bees have teeth?…feel free to email me some ‘constructive’ abuse as a kick up the arse!

Please help me avoid these blummin’…dinosaurs rock…these blummin’ distractions!!
p.s. I got completely distracted looking for random photos for this blog, I actually wrote this hours ago!

  1. Love it! But what am I doing reading your blog when I should be writing – YOU are a distraction on a par with a talking sausage! 🙂

  2. Congratulations on the word count!

Like you, I don't like to plot. Writing is an organic process for me and plotting seems to stifle my creative juices. I like to see where the characters take me. I know, you're thinking the insane assylum. Muhahahahah…
