Winning flash

Woo, just found out I won Lily’s Friday Prediction, with my entry ‘Picasso’.
Apparently it’s a ‘slavering, horror ride’ How’s that for a plug!
For those of you who don’t know, Lily Childs runs a flash fiction contest every week in which you have to weave three randomly selected words into a 100-word story.
It’s great fun and there are some stonking entries to read every week. I feel lucky to have been picked over the amazing entries that I was competing with this week.
Why not pop on over and have a go, or just have a read?
In other news I’m still massacring a short story until it fits nicely into an allotted word count, it’s getting there! If it’s good enough it should be online for you to read soon enough. I’ll keep you updated.

  1. Congratulations! I know the standard of the entries is always incredibly high, so it's no small thing to win.

Lily's FF is a great source of inspiration, I've had six of my pieces submitted there accepted for flash fiction anthologies. I must get back to it after my blogging break next week!

  2. Well done on the win, Steven. I'm intrigued about the story your having to massacre down!! 😉

  3. Great win Steven and really worthy of it too. Such a well crafted slice (see what I did there) of horror that reminded me of an old Amicus segment.

May I suggest that you also post the story on here too so your followers can have a read when they hit your blog.

Oh yeah stop writing like that because I want to win it sometime.

    Tony.
